Christopher Romes HOSTETLER, 80, retired farmer, died at 7 o'clock Friday night at his home here following a short illness with a complication of diseases. Mr. Hostetler was born Jan 14, 1858 in Coles Co, Illinois, the son of David Clinton and Lyda Money Hostetler. He married Elizabeth Jones at Tuscola, Ill April 27, 1867. The deceased had resided in the Waveland Community for the past 20 years and was a member of the Christian Church and the Masonic order. Surviving in addition to the widow are two daughters, Mrs. Ethel Swanay of Waveland and Mrs. Esther L. Ghormley of Texas; two sons, Earl H. Hostetler of Raleig, NC and Erwin C. Hostetler of Akron, Ohio and a brother, John and sister, Lillie or Borger, Texas, 9 grandchildren and 4 greats. Funeral services were conducted at two o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Christian Church following a short service at the residence at 12:45 p.m. The body lay in state at the church for one hour prceeding the services there inc harge of Rev RL Hartling assisted by Rev JO Carder. Music was furnished by Mrs. Frank Gardner and mrs. Fred Rice, accompanied by Mr. Walker at the piano. Pall bearers were Delbert White; Hubert Loudermill; Oris Reiter; Clarence Milligan; Tom Durham and Less Foster … Masonic rites were conducted at Maple Ridge Cemetery…
